Their love story began during a church activity called the Preference Ball, where he was part of the committee handling attendance. As he assisted members, his attention was drawn to a beautiful woman who caught his eye. Intrigued, he checked her name on the attendance list and added her on Facebook. To his delight, she accepted his friend request, and they began chatting. They addressed each other as “Brother” and “Sister,” in line with their church’s customs.

Through their conversations, he discovered she was also studying at UI, the same university he attended. This excited him, as he hoped to see her often. However, she was completing her OJT, so their paths rarely crossed at school. Despite this, they continued exchanging messages daily, and he eventually asked her on a date on February 14. When she said "yes," he was overjoyed, especially when she revealed it was her first-ever date, as she had never been in a relationship before. Their first date was a bit awkward—they were both shy and barely spoke—but he was determined to pursue her, particularly after learning her father was a policeman.

Courting her was not easy. She hadn’t graduated yet and told him that if he was serious, he would need to wait. He agreed, but soon, self-doubt crept in. Feeling unworthy due to his first-year college status, lack of a job, and no income, he abruptly stopped communicating with her for two months. During that time, he questioned if he was good enough for her. When he finally reached out, she responded, tearfully asking why he had disappeared. He apologized, explaining his feelings of inadequacy. She reassured him that material things didn’t matter and admitted she had started to fall for him.

On September 24, 2017, she finally said "yes," and their relationship officially began. He was ecstatic, feeling like the happiest person in the world. Over the next seven years, they faced many trials and challenges. Like any couple, they experienced moments where they almost gave up, but they chose to fight for their love.
